Question #3

Do photographs tell the truth? Or do they lie?

I think they can tell the truth and lie at the same time. It really depends on who is looking at the picture. Some things can deceive the eye and make the photo only appear to be a lie when its not. Some ways it can purposefully be a lie and people think its the truth. No one can truly tell what the photo means, but the photographer.

Question #2

Which is more descriptive, a text that describes an event, or a photograph? Why?

In my opinion, a picture is more descriptive, because it takes the event and freezes it. If there were people you could see their facial expressions and motions, whereas a text you only have your imagination to create that image. You also get all of the colors and sense of emotion through the photo as well as different point of views. A text only gives you the point of view from the person typing it.

Thatcher Effect

Look at this photo upside down. The Thatcher Effect deceives the mind and makes things appear different.

Question #1

I think Art/Photo is based off your feelings and what you can make out of them. For art we use colors and mixtures to create something that expresses ourselves, whereas photo you take a picture of something that resembles our feelings or ideas.

"To make the ordinary extraordinary."
